Abstract

The Purpose of this study was to verify the effect of meridian massage upon the reduction of women¡¯s shoulder pain. For this, study derived 45 women participants with convenience sampling and judgemental sampling among non-statistical sampling. The procedure of the sequence of the main experiment program was participant rest meridian massage acupressure finger pressure therapy meridian massage participant rest in that order, and acupressure for meridian massage treated in this study were only lung meridian(LU) and small intestine meridian(SI) among 12 acupressure. This study measured pain rating index for three times with visual analog scale(VAS) that records subjective expressions about should pain, and conducted five point Likert scale with self report. Through the research methods above, this study came to get to the conclusions as to the effect of reducing shoulder pain of women treated with meridian massage as follows. First, it is found that there was a significant difference in every transverse section analysis to identify reducing effect of pain shoulder according to age as the participant¡¯s background variable. Second, it is found that there was significant difference in paired t-test to identify reducing effect of pain shoulder according to treatment of meridian massage. Third, from thd results of conducting MANOVA to identify reducing effect of pain shoulder according to age, it is found that there was a significant difference in 10 items out 11 items in total, and that there was no significant difference only in on item of migraine. The results of this study showed that meridian massage produced a significant effect on the reduction of women¡¯s shoulder pain, and it was confirmed that meridian massage combined with oriental medicine was and appropriate program for the reduction of shoulder pain. Thus, it is hoped that the results of this study above may provide basic materials for the treatment of reduction women¡¯s shoulder pain in future.
